Girls'Day

2024-05-02

GirlsDay

As part of the nationwide Girls' Day, the Chair of Materials Engineering welcomed six schoolgirls to the workshop "What do aluminium foil and a bicycle have in common?" Through independent experiments, the participants were able to find out that materials as different as a bicycle frame and aluminium foil can have surprisingly much in common.

The schoolgirls, who were our guests on 25 April 2024, were able to gain a small insight into the exciting world of Materials Science and Engineering in our Chair's laboratories. The event was part of a national initiative to encourage girls and young women to explore science and engineering careers. The LWT is proud to have been part of this important initiative and looks forward to continuing to support young talent in the future.
